We are seeking an experienced Lead Android Engineer for a leading Irish company. You will provide technical leadership across the Android function, guiding architecture decisions, mentoring developers, and ensuring best-in-class performance, security, and user experience.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of enterprise-grade Android applications
• Define and enforce architectural standards (MVVM, modularisation, clean architecture)
• Oversee integration with RESTful APIs and backend services
• Champion secure coding practices, encryption, and authentication standards (biometric, MFA, token-based)
• Provide technical mentorship and conduct code reviews
• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, and Backend teams to drive delivery
• Optimise performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Support release strategy, CI/CD pipelines, and production stability

Required Experience:

• Extensive Android development experience (Kotlin preferred)
• Proven experience in a Lead or Senior-level engineering role
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Jetpack components, and modern architecture patterns
• Experience building secure, API-driven mobile applications at scale
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and engineering best practices
• Experience working in regulated or high-security environments is advantageous
